At the victorian era, women took on new roles in society. Many women worked as maids, shop assistants, or teachers. But what did these women wear when they worked? At the clothing exhibition, you will have the opportunity to see the different work clothes and additional outfits from the early 1900s. What did a lady wear when she was going for a swim or playing a bit of tennis?
The role of women at the turn of the century in Marstrand is a clothing exhibition staged by the Sekelskiftesdagarna in Marstrand non-profit association, featuring clothes sewn by the dressmaker Anette Sörgren.
Several pictures and texts describing the different clothes will be displayed in the venue. The pictures are from the Marstrand Local Heritage Association’s archive, and Göran Kristensson has written the historical texts.
The exhibition will take place at Marstrand's Havshotell on October 19-20 in the Blå salen. On Saturday, October 19, the exhibition will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On Sunday, October 20, it will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The event has free admission, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
The exhibition is sponsored by Leader in Bohuslän.
